Zomba Diocese Health Commission operates under the Social Directorate of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba. Its mission is to advance the healing ministry of Jesus Christ by promoting human life and providing preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services in a holistic manner. This is achieved through participation in collaborative networks and partnerships, aligned with the needs and capacities of the communities, and in accordance with Catholic core values and principles, to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

The Commission is seeking to recruit motivated and experienced individuals for the following vacant positions at one of its health facilities, St. Robert Health Centre (Sitima).

Department: Clinical

Reporting Officer:

Direct: Senior Clinical Technician

Indirect: Chief Clinical Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

Carrying out simple surgical extraction of teeth

Scaling, polishing and filling teeth

Conducting health education on oral care

Prescribing drugs and treating patients with oral problems

Making artificial teeth and fitting them

Conducting oral preventive dental work programme

Recording data in relevant registers and instruments following guidelines

Routinely monitor the dental services and take necessary actions to improve the services quality and oral health status of the people

Any other duties assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

Diploma in Dental Therapy from reputable training institution

Registered with Medical Council of Malawi

Knowledge, Ability and Skills:

Well conversant with the health system in Malawi

Ability to work independently and in a team

Effective communication skills

Problem identification and solving skills
