Factory Machine Operator

OVERVIEW

Our client is looking for a hands-on Factory Machine Operator to work at a briquette production facility in Blantyre. This is a practical factory role involving direct production work, machine operation, material preparation and daily production support.

Briquette experience is not required. Experience in another manufacturing, factory, milling, agro-processing or production environment is suitable.

POSITION: FACTORY MACHINE OPERATOR

JOB TYPE: Full Time

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate briquette production machinery.
• Prepare and feed raw materials into the production process.
• Monitor briquette quality and adjust the process when required.
• Keep machinery and the production area clean and well maintained.
• Identify machine problems and assist with basic maintenance.
• Organise daily production activities with other factory workers.
• Keep simple records of production and materials used.
• Help make sure production targets are achieved.
• Follow health and safety procedures.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES

• Practical experience working with factory or production machinery.
• Comfortable doing hands-on physical production work.
• A basic understanding of machinery and maintenance.
• Able to organise other workers when required.
• Reliable, practical and able to solve problems.
• Able to work without constant supervision.
• Willing to learn the briquette production process.

USEFUL BACKGROUNDS INCLUDE: Milling, food processing, animal feed, agro-processing, plastics, construction materials or similar manufacturing.
