As part of its commitment to developing high-potential agricultural enterprises, CHITUTE wa ZOKOLORA Agribusiness Consulting is proud to be working with its client, LAKEVIEW HARVESTS FARM Limited. The farm is a fast-growing agribusiness currently engaged in the production of ABE chili, cowpeas, and other crops, and is now expanding into poultry farming.

To support its growing operations, Lakeview Harvests Farm Limited is seeking to recruit a reliable, hardworking, and honest individual to fill the position of Farm Attendant.

Responsibilities

Farm Security & Protection: Ensure that fruits, vegetables, and other crops are protected from wild animals, wildfires, thieves, and any other threats. This includes regular patrolling of the farm boundaries and taking proactive measures to safeguard the farm's produce and property.

Crop Cultivation: Plant, weed, water, and provide general care to vegetables and other crops to ensure healthy growth and maximum yield.

Poultry Management: Feed and provide daily care for poultry, maintain clean housing, monitor bird health, and ensure proper egg collection and storage.

General Farm Operations: Actively participate in all farming activities during the growing and off-season as directed by the Farm Supervisor.

Harvesting & Post-Harvest Care: Harvest fruits, vegetables, and eggs at the appropriate time and handle all produce with care to minimize damage and spoilage.

Record Keeping & Reporting: Accurately record daily harvests and maintain proper documentation of all sales transactions. Provide timely and accurate reports to the Farm Supervisor.

Additional Duties: Perform any other tasks assigned by the Farm Supervisor that contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the farm.

Requirements

• Minimum of Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) or above (MSCE will be an added advantage)
• Previous experience working on a farm, particularly in crop and poultry management, is highly preferred
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor in various weather conditions
• Honest, trustworthy, and committed to protecting farm property
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Willingness to live on the farm and work on weekends and public holidays when necessary
• Basic record-keeping and numeracy skills
