Barloworld Equipment invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant position tenable in Blantyre:

GENERAL MECHANIC- POWER -BLANTYRE (GG08)

OUTPUTS:

Carry out repairs, services, and maintenance on Generator sets on customer sites.

Diagnose and repair problems with generator sets, transfer switches, switchgear, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.

Carry out generator set installations and commissioning.

Conduct site-specific inspections and generator set sizing in line with customer requirements.

Ensure safe work practices by complying with required regulations/ legislation.

Maintain a professional image when representing BWE on customer sites.

Quickly and efficiently, deal with all customer generator sets breakdowns to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Compile accurate technical analysis reports to guide in decision-making.

Effective self-management and performance ownership

REQUIREMENTS OF CANDIDATE:

Qualified in relevant trade i.e. Grade One National Trade Test Certificate in Electrical Installation or Auto-Electrical, Tevet Diploma in Automobile Engineering.

Generator set specific technical knowledge and skills.

Sound interpersonal and communication skills

Basic technical report writing

Basic business and financial understanding

Some Computer Literacy (SIS, STW & ET) knowledge

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of supplier warranty systems, policies & and procedures.

Applicable product knowledge
