Job Description
OVERVIEW
Andiamo Youth Cooperative Trust (AYCT) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of IT Trainer under the Pathway Centre Programme.
The IT Trainer will be responsible for delivering practical and learner-centred digital literacy training to young women, equipping participants with essential computer skills, digital communication competencies, and online workplace readiness to support their education, employment, entrepreneurship, and career development opportunities.
The successful candidate will create an inclusive learning environment while promoting professionalism, safeguarding, and learner support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver practical training in computer literacy, including keyboard skills, file management, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet navigation.
- Introduce learners to cloud-based tools and digital productivity platforms.
- Deliver engaging lessons using participatory and learner-centred teaching methods.
- Adapt training approaches to support learners with different levels of digital experience.
- Support participants to build confidence in using technology.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and safeguarding during training sessions.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants should possess:
- Minimum Diploma in Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, plus two teaching subjects.
- At least two (2) years’ experience in IT training, digital literacy instruction, facilitation, or technical support.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, internet technologies, and basic computer troubleshooting.
- Experience delivering training to youth, beginners, or adult learners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chichewa.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with NGOs, educational institutions, or youth development programmes.
- Experience supporting online job, scholarship, or college applications.
- Knowledge of digital learning tools and online collaboration platforms.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Passion for empowering young women through technology and education.
