Job Description

Last Mile Health (LMH), in partnership with Pact and the Ministry of Health, is implementing the ACHIEVE Project aimed at strengthening maternal and child health systems in Malawi through digital health systems, community health worker support, and sustainable health interventions.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawian nationals for the following consultancy positions:

1. District Implementation Consultants (2 Positions)

Duty Stations: Balaka & Thyolo

Estimated Fees: USD 2,700 – 3,200/month

Commitment: Up to 35 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project implementation and district coordination
  • Work with District Health Management Teams and partners
  • Coordinate reporting, supervision, and stakeholder engagement
  • Support data management and iCHIS implementation
  • Prepare reports, work plans, and training documentation
  • Assist with logistics and administration activities

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Public Health, Environmental Health, or related field
  • ICT qualifications added advantage
  • Experience working with government and district-level programs
  • Strong reporting and communication skills



2. Finance and Operations Consultant

Duty Station: Lilongwe

Estimated Fees: USD 2,200 – 2,500/month

Commitment: Up to 35 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

  • Support accounting and financial reporting
  • Monitor project expenditures and donor compliance
  • Manage financial documentation and liquidations
  • Coordinate logistics and procurement activities
  • Support budgeting and financial analysis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Studying towards ACCA/CIMA is an advantage
  • Experience in NGO finance and accounting
  • Knowledge of donor-funded projects preferred

The ACHIEVE Project focuses on:

  • Strengthening maternal and child health systems
  • Improving iCHIS digital health systems
  • Supporting over 1,000 Community Health Workers
  • Strengthening emergency referral systems and sustainability
