Location: Lilongwe


OVERVIEW 

The Royal Trade and Logistics Limited are seeking highly skilled PSV and Truck Drivers, Conductors/Inspectors and Depot Clerks to join our dynamic team.


1. Inspector


Reporting to the Senior Inspector, the coach inspector will be responsible for the following:


To check tickets and ensuring passengers have paid the correct fare To ensure buses/coaches are following routes and time schedules.

To monitor passenger safety and behaviour patterns.

Corroboration with law enforcement if needed

Qualifications and skills


MSCE and 5 years experience in the trucking business

Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve problems

Excellent communication skills – oral and written.

Professionalism, smart, courtesy and ambience towards customers, and co-workers

Flexibility to work odd hours, weekends and/or public holidays

 


2. PSV Drivers


Reporting to the Operations Supervisor.


Key Responsibilities


To safely transport passengers to their destinations while adhering to all road safety regulations.

Conduct pre-departure vehicle checks (oil, water, lights, tyres, brakes, etc) to ensure optimal performance and vehicle safety.

Ensure the coach is equipped with all necessary tools and documentation before and during trips

Submit detailed handover notes and report any mechanical defects and tools to the workshop Foreman promptly.

Qualifications & Skills


Minimum Junior Certificate or equivalent.

PSV Driving Licence, (CE-PGD) will be an added advantage,

At least 5 years of practical driving experience as a bus/coach driver.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

In-depth knowledge of the transport industry.

High professionalism and integrity

 


3. Truck Drivers


Reporting to the Operations Supervisor.


Key Responsibilities


To safely transport goods to their destinations while adhering to all road safety regulations.

Conduct pre-departure vehicle checks (oil, water, lights, tyres, brakes, etc) to ensure optimal performance and vehicle safety.

Ensure the truck is equipped with all necessary tools and documentation before and during trips.

Submit detailed handover notes and report any mechanical defects and tools to the workshop Foreman promptly.

Qualifications & Skills


Minimum Junior Certificate or equivalent.

Category (CE-PGD) driving licence and PSV will be an added advantage At least 5 years of practical driving experience as a truck driver.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

In-depth knowledge of the transport industry.

High professionalism and integrity

 


4. Depot Clerk


Reporting to the Senior Inspector, the Depot Clerk will be responsible for the following:


To issue receipts/tickets to courier Customers and passengers

To receive courier parcels and mail from customers and arrange dispatch of same with appropriate documentation

To handle customer issues regarding the bus, mail and parcels

To deliver courier items to customers on claim and timely

To handle cash and reconcile for the day’s transactions

Any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time

Qualifications and skills:


Minimum of MSCE. Any professional diploma and relevant Certificate will be an added advantage.

Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer complaints and conflicts.

Excellent communication skills – oral and written.

Professionalism, courtesy and ambience towards customers and co-workers.

Flexibility to work odd hours, weekends and/or public holidays.

 


5. CONDUCTORS


Reporting to the Senior Inspector, the coach conductors will be responsible for the following:


To issue tickets to passengers

To reconcile and account for all ticket sales

To conduct coach pre-departure checks

To ensure each passenger is sitting on the right seat and politely directing them to their seats o make proper announcements to passengers on departure, in-route and at all stops

To provide and ensure good customer service on board and serving them with courtesy and in a friendly manne

To take care of company and passengers properties and report any defects, complaints and lost luggage

Any other duties assigned to you from time to time by Management.

Qualifications and skills


MSCE and 5 years experience in courier and passenger transport businesses

Those with Certificate in the travel and tourism industry will have an added advantage Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer conflict and complaints

Excellent communication skills – oral and written.

Professionalism, smart, courtesy and ambience towards customers, and co-workers.

Flexibility to work odd hours, weekends and/or public holidays
