Job Description
CHAMBAYIKA MILLING LIMITED is a growing agro-processing company engaged in the processing and distribution of high-quality Kilombero rice under the KARONGA FINEST RICE brand.
The Company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions:
1. PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Duty Station: Nyungwe, Karonga
The Production Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations at the Company’s rice processing factory, ensuring efficient production, product quality, proper use of resources and achievement of production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise rice milling, grading, packaging and related production activities.
- Prepare and implement production schedules to achieve agreed targets.
- Supervise production workers, allocate duties and monitor their performance.
- Ensure efficient use of raw materials, packaging materials, machinery and other resources.
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with established food-safety and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of production, stock, wastage and equipment performance.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage and issuance of paddy rice and finished products.
- Enforce workplace health, safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
- Ensure proper cleaning and routine maintenance of production machinery.
- Identify production challenges and coordinate timely corrective action.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree or diploma in Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least five years of relevant production or factory-supervision experience, preferably in rice milling, food processing or agro-processing.
- Practical knowledge of production planning, quality control, stock management and machinery operations.
- Strong leadership, team-management and problem-solving skills.
- Good record-keeping and report-writing abilities.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
- High level of integrity, discipline and attention to detail.
2. FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Duty Station: Nyungwe, Karonga
The Finance & Administration Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the effective administration of the Company’s factory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare regular financial reports.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and payment processing.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flows.
- Support budgeting, financial forecasting and expenditure control.
- Manage payroll and maintain relevant employee records.
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial and administrative records.
- Support procurement, inventory control and general factory administration.
- Coordinate administrative requirements, including office supplies, utilities and service providers.
- Support internal and external audits and implement appropriate financial controls.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- A professional accounting qualification, or progress towards one, will be an added advantage.
- At least three years of relevant experience in finance and administration, preferably within a manufacturing or agro-processing environment.
- Knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Good understanding of taxation, payroll, budgeting and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Location Requirement
Both positions are based full-time at the Company’s rice processing factory at Nyungwe in Karonga. Applicants must already be living in Karonga or be willing to relocate.
