POSITION: PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Academic Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants should possess the following:

A diploma or equivalent qualification. Pharmacy Technician certification is preferred.
Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmaceutical products.
Valid registration with the Malawi Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority (formerly the Malawi Pharmacy, Medicines and Poisons Board).

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for the following:

Reviewing prescriptions for accuracy.
Monitoring stock levels and medicine expiry dates.
Ordering and restocking medicines and pharmaceutical supplies.
Guiding patients on medication use, dosage, and possible side effects.
Complying with pharmacy regulations and patient privacy policies.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe pharmacy environment.
