Wave is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Premium Cash Assistant to support its liquidity operations in Lilongwe. The successful candidate will help manage cash and electronic float, maintain accurate financial records, support mobile money agents, and ensure smooth operations at premium agent outlets.

JOB SUMMARY

The Premium Cash Assistant will support liquidity operations by managing cash and electronic float, reconciling transactions, maintaining accurate treasury records, and ensuring that agents and customers receive timely and reliable service.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Academic Qualifications and Work Experience:

Applicants must possess the following:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline.
At least three (3) years of experience as a cashier or in cash management, reconciliation, liquidity management, cash handling, cash delivery, or a similar position.
Strong proficiency in English and other local languages spoken in Malawi, preferably.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Premium Cash Assistant will be responsible for the following:

Controlling access to the safe and cash house, including managing cash inflows and outflows between the safe and PAA accounts.
Conducting end-of-day cash counting and maintaining daily reconciliations for premium agent outlets.
Ensuring all cash management transactions are accurately recorded in the treasury system.
Requesting sufficient funds from the head office promptly to prevent service disruptions and delays.
Managing the receipt and dispatch of cash through the Cash in Transit (CIT) team.
Ensuring compliance with all cash management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Escalating and following up on issues affecting the smooth operation of premium outlets.
Monitoring the liquidity of proximity agents and resolving issues that affect their ability to serve customers.
Supporting agents and customers with information about Wave's services, account opening, system use, the mobile application, and physical cards.
Maintaining accurate financial and operational records to support accountability and efficient service delivery.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The successful candidate will work from Wave's office in Lilongwe, Malawi, with possible travel to other field locations.
