Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacancy, which exists at Ebenezer Institute for Learning.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and records of work in alignment with the Primary School Curriculum.
- Deliver instruction across core subjects using age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Develop and use teaching aids and learning resources to enhance understanding and engagement, including charts, models, books, and digital tools.
- Create a structured and disciplined classroom environment that fosters respect, focus, and a positive attitude toward learning.
- Assess and monitor learners’ academic progress through classwork, homework, tests, and examinations; maintain accurate records and report outcomes to parents/guardians.
- Support learners with diverse needs, including remedial instruction and inclusive education strategies.
- Promote literacy and numeracy development through interactive reading, writing, and problem-solving activities.
- Encourage critical thinking and creativity through project-based learning, group discussions, and practical exercises.
- Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding learners’ academic and behavioral development.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school administration to plan and implement school programs and activities.
- Participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and school events.
- Ensure learners maintain proper hygiene and dress code, including wearing clean and appropriate school and sports uniforms.
- Prepare and submit academic and administrative reports in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay updated with curriculum changes and educational policies, and integrate them into teaching practices.
- Uphold professional ethics and Christian values in all interactions with learners, colleagues, and the community.
Requirements
- Must possess a T2 Certificate. A Diploma in Primary Education from an accredited institution will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years teaching experience in a reputable institutions.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be honest and passionate about teaching children.
- All applicants must be practicing Christians.
