ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Smile Life Insurance Company, a reputable Life insurance company, is implementing a project called Smile Life Insurance Kumudzi which aims at upscaling Insurance Services to rural communities. The Project is being funded by the Government of Malawi through Financial Access for Rural Markets, Smallholder and Enterprises (FARMSE) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The project is being implemented in Mangochi, Dedza, Zomba and Thyolo.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Officer to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Project.

The ideal candidate will coordinate daily activities, facilitate the selling of Insurance Products, ensure strict compliance with project timelines and budgets, and serve as the primary liaison between local stakeholders, beneficiaries, and internal teams at district level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sales: Selling Insurance products in the districts.
• Agency Management: Management of Agents and collaborating Partners.
• Project Implementation: Execute daily project activities in accordance with the work plan and established quality standards.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Build and maintain strong relationships with district stakeholders.
• Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E): Track project progress through data collection, field visits, and regular reporting against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Documentation: Maintain accurate project files, draft progress reports, and organize project meetings and milestone reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Education: A minimum of a Diploma in Project Management, Marketing, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in Sales and Marketing. Those with experience in Project Coordination will have an added advantage.
• Required Skills: Ability to ride a motorcycle; Excellent written and spoken English and Chichewa.
