VACANCY
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: STORYTELLERS (7)
Introduction
The National Library Service of Malawi (NLS), in partnership with the Malawi National Commission for UNESCO (MNCU), Music Crossroads Malawi (MCM), and Rei Foundation Limited (RFL), conduct weekly storytelling sessions at the Pabwalo Multipurpose Room at NIS Headquarters in Lilongwe.
The sessions are held every Saturday, bringing together children from across Lilongwe to listen to traditional folktales. The initiative aims to preserve oral traditions, promote moral values and positive behaviour, and foster a deeper appreciation of Malawian culture and heritage.
To support and expand this initiative, NIS is socking seven (7) passionate storytellers to join a roster of facilitators who will be engaged on an on-call, as-needed basis.
Requirements
Requirements
- Age: 35-55 years old
- Proven experience in traditional or creative storytelling in any form, like drama, teaching children, or any other program involving children.
- Strong oral performance and public presentation skills relevant to children
- Demonstrated ability to engage, inspire, and manage young audiences.
