About the Role

The Technical Sales Specialist plays a vital role in driving sales growth by providing technical expertise and support to customers. This role is responsible for understanding customer requirements, demonstrating the value of Edgetech's solutions—from managed IT services to custom software—and building strong, long-term client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and target potential customers in the designated market segment (SMEs, enterprises, public sector)
  • Generate new leads and build a strong sales pipeline
  • Understand customer needs and provide appropriate technical solutions (cloud, cybersecurity, software, IT consultancy)
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase Edgetech's offerings
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to promote Edgetech's products and services

2. Technical Expertise

  • Possess a deep understanding of Edgetech's IT services, cloud platforms, cybersecurity solutions, and custom software
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors' offerings
  • Provide technical support to customers, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with the product development team to provide customer feedback and contribute to service enhancements
  • Conduct training sessions for customers to ensure optimal product usage and customer satisfaction

3. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Understand customers' business goals and align Edgetech's solutions accordingly
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure timely resolution of customer issues
  • Regularly follow up with customers to nurture relationships and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities
  • Collaborate with the customer success team to ensure customer satisfaction and retention

4. Sales Reporting & Analysis

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities in the CRM system
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for management review
  • Identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement in the sales process


Requirements

Education

  • Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computing, Information Technology, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in technical sales, preferably within the IT services or software industry
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth

  • Strong technical acumen – ability to understand complex IT products and services (cloud, cybersecurity, software development)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
