Description

Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH), is implementing activities under the Beginnings Fund, which aims to strengthen Human Resources for Health (HRH) training in Malawi. As part of this initiative, scholarships are being offered to eligible candidates to undergo training in the Bachelor of Science in Neonatal Nursing Programme at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences. The scholarship covers health workers in Blantyre, Lilongwe, and Mzimba.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with six (6) credits including English, Biology, Physical Science/General Science/Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
  2. Registered Nurse Midwife with a University Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery or those with a Diploma in Nursing plus University Certificate in Midwifery obtained from Kamuzu University of Health Sciences.
  3. Applicants with a University Diploma in Nursing will be enrolled in the University Certificate in Midwifery Programme before proceeding to the Bachelor of Science in Neonatal Nursing Programme.
  • The scholarship will only continue for those who progress to the Bachelor of Science in Neonatal Nursing Programme.
  1. Must be a registered nurse with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMC).
  2. Must have two years of working experience in a midwifery unit.
  • Those with a University Certificate in Midwifery obtained from Kamuzu University of Health Sciences or any other recognized institution are eligible.
  • Technician Diploma holders are not eligible for admission into this programme.
  1. Must include a letter of support from the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMC).


Applicants Should Submit

  • A completed application form available at: admissions.kuhes.ac.mw
  • Certified copies of academic and professional certificates.
  • Copies must be certified as true copies of the originals by a recognized Commissioner of Oaths (District Commissioner/Lawyer/Issuing Institution).
  • A letter of recommendation from a supervisor or District Health Office (for those already employed).
