OVERVIEW

Zagaf Transport Malawi is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced Automotive Electricians to join its maintenance team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems on European model trucks and Freightliner trucks. They will work with modern diagnostic tools, troubleshoot complex electrical faults, and support efficient workshop operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems on European model trucks including Volvo, MAN, Mercedes, and Scania.
• Work on Freightliner truck electrical systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot faults involving:
• Engine Control Units (ECUs)
• Sensors
• Wiring systems
• CAN bus systems
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of truck electrical systems.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced workshop environment.
• Collaborate with mechanics and other technicians to ensure efficient repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

• Malawi T3/T4 Trade Test Certificate in Automotive Electrical/Electronics.

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working on European model trucks and Freightliners.
• Strong experience with truck electrical diagnostic systems.
• Experience using computer-based diagnostic software.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical faults.
• Good knowledge of truck electrical systems.
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Computer literacy in automotive diagnostic systems.
• Valid Manual Driver’s Licence.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
