Habitat for Humanity Malawi (HFHM) is inviting accomplished, visionary, and values-driven professionals to serve on its Board of Trustees.

For nearly 40 years, Habitat for Humanity Malawi has been working alongside communities, government, development partners, faith-based organizations, and the private sector to ensure that every Malawian has access to a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home.

Guided by our Strategic Plan 2025–2030, we are pursuing an ambitious agenda to:

• Build More and Better Homes for vulnerable families
• Transform Housing Systems by influencing markets and public policy
• Inspire Action for Housing through advocacy, partnerships, and volunteerism

As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we are seeking exceptional leaders to strengthen our governance and help steer the organization toward achieving its vision.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for highly respected professionals with executive leadership experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Fundraising and Resource Mobilization
• Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement
• Legal, Corporate Governance and Compliance
• Housing Finance and Affordable Housing
• Business Development and Entrepreneurship

We particularly encourage applications from individuals who are passionate about social impact, possess strong strategic leadership skills, and are committed to promoting good governance and sustainable development.

Role of the Board

The Board of Trustees provides strategic leadership and oversight to Habitat for Humanity Malawi by:

• Setting strategic direction and safeguarding the organization's mission
• Providing governance, financial and risk oversight
• Supporting resource mobilization and strategic partnerships
• Advocating for affordable housing and sustainable community development
• Supporting the National Director and management in achieving organizational excellence

Board members serve on a voluntary basis and are expected to attend quarterly Board meetings and actively contribute to Board Committees. The initial tenure for the board membership is 3 years.
