Job Description
Sparkle Foundation Malawi is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Driver based in Zomba.
Reports to: Finance and Operations Director
SCOPE OF WORK
Responsible for safely transporting organization cargo and staff from one location to another, and ensuring that all traffic laws are followed.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure adherence to fleet management policy and enforced during any assignments
- Signal any sign of need for maintenance or other problem with the vehicle to the program manager or HR and Administrative Office
- Ensuring safety features and tools of the vehicle are available and in good working order
- Updates log book by indicating the date, mileage, fuel, destination where the vehicle is going and makes sure that the authorizing officer signs before the vehicle leaves
- Checks fuel, oils, lubricants, water, tyre pressure, lights, wipers and any other parts that need checking before starting the vehicle off on a daily basis to ensure the vehicles are road-worthy
- Take pictures and videos for social media as directed by the Community and Communications Officer/Management. Make sure proper procedure is taken when handling social media information and follow the Sparkle social media policy
- Compiling logbooks and generating fuel analysis reports
- Check that vehicles are properly insured and that all road licenses/taxes are valid
- Ensure vehicle is always kept secure and clean
- Strictly observe Traffic Rules and Regulations and maximum speed limit as prescribed by the laws of Malawi
- To drive Sparkle Officers and other program beneficiaries when need arises such as transporting sick children to the hospital
- Any other duties assigned from time to time
Requirements
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Should possess a valid Malawi Driving license, minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education with an ability to speak and understand English
- Those with defensive driving certificate will have added advantage

- Follow directions, policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner
- Keep accurate records and submit reports as necessary to the Head of Security
- Meet physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties in the role of Security Guard
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality
