Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily maintenance operations across multiple company building structures.
- Receive, prioritize and assign maintenance requests to Artisans or Contractors and control & monitor quality of outsourced maintenance work.
- Conduct inspections of works to ensure timely completion.
- Set work standards with Contractors to ensure compliance with Illovo standard procedures and legal requirements.
- Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical and plumbing systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, costs and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building regulations.
- Manage inventory of tools, equipment and spare parts.
- Ensure proper maintenance of estate and all contractors’ areas as per Illovo Procurement policy.
- Manage utilities personnel to ensure that utilities are operated, maintained and repaired effectively and efficiently in compliance with site standards, permit conditions, rules and regulations.
- Ensure that major projects are properly planned and monitored and emergency breakdowns are attended to.
- Ensure relevant estate project documentation from consultants and contractors is completed within relevant regulations, standards, and company requirements along with required standards, processes and procedures.
- Manage and control the estate’s electrical and plumbing maintenance budget.
- Comply and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including standard limitations, those relating to SHEQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption.
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree/equivalent qualification in Engineering. Those with Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and vast experience in construction will have an added advantage.
- 5+ years management experience (minimum of 5 years in business optimization / capital exposure and facilities experience).
- Impressive, demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained within a similar position(s), at a similar level.
- Strong coordination and organization skills, a good understanding of domestic electrical and plumbing systems, ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple works-orders.
- Excellent communication abilities.
