POSITION: HEAD OF OPERATIONS

Target Security Group, a fully integrated multidisciplinary security and facilities management company, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Head of Operations.

The Head of Operations will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, driving strategic initiatives, strengthening contract delivery, and overseeing seamless day-to-day operations across the company. The successful candidate must possess strong operational leadership and commercial expertise, with the ability to support regional operations, improve profitability, and ensure the highest standards of service delivery.

The successful candidate must also be highly resilient, commercially minded, and able to work effectively with demanding, fast-moving, and results-driven directors while maintaining professionalism, discipline, and sound judgement. They must also possesses a mind of steel, with the resilience, emotional intelligence, and discipline required to operate effectively in a challenging and fast-paced business environment.

The position will be based at the company’s Head Office in Blantyre.

Main Responsibilities

The duties and essential functions of the role shall include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Leading and overseeing the Group’s security operations and related service delivery functions.

-Supporting operations by ensuring efficient deployment, supervision, performance management, and contract execution.

-Attending high-level client meetings and maintaining strong client relationships.

-Setting clear goals, objectives, and performance targets for the Operations Department, including supervisory teams falling under the reporting structure.

-Ensuring that all required security services are delivered to clients’ satisfaction and in accordance with contractual obligations.

-Managing contract budgets in line with agreed financial targets and profitability objectives.

-Identifying operational risks, performance gaps, and business improvement opportunities.

-Ensuring that all contract-required training, screening, and vetting processes are completed for security personnel.

-Working closely with management to support strategic growth, commercial performance, and operational excellence.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

-A minimum of 7 years’ experience in senior security management or a related operational leadership role.

-Strong operational leadership skills, with proven ability to manage teams, contracts, deployments, and client expectations.

-Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of budgets, profitability, contract performance, cost control, and business growth.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Communications & Media Studies-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

-Exposure to both traditional security operations and technology-based security systems will be an added advantage.

-Previous service in the Malawi Defence Force or the Malawi Police Service will be an added advantage.

-Possession of a valid driver’s licence is a must.
