MECHATRONICS TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN)
Duty Station: Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzuzu and Mangochi
Reporting to: Workshop Foreman
Role Summary
The Mechatronics Technician (Motor Vehicles) will be responsible for carrying out both electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair activities on the company’s motor vehicle fleet to ensure optimal availability, reliability, and safe operation. The role focuses on preventive servicing, corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis, and effective repair of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
The position involves maintaining vehicle engines, drivetrains, braking systems, electrical and electronic components, and auxiliary systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising vehicle downtime, extending vehicle lifespan, and supporting operational efficiency through reliable and cost-effective fleet maintenance practices.
Requirements
Key Requirements
- Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ practical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and basic PLC-controlled machinery
- Proven fault-finding, problem-solving, and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Excellent knowledge and use of the diagnosis machines
