About Youth Watch Society (YOWSO)
Youth Watch Society (YOWSO), in partnership with the Paralegal Advisory Service Institute (PASI), is inviting applications from qualified and passionate individuals for the position of Paralegal Officer under the EU–UNICEF–PASI Programme.
Job Summary
The successful candidates will support access to justice by providing paralegal services, promoting village mediation, and delivering legal awareness initiatives within communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal aid, information, and advisory services to vulnerable groups.
- Conduct legal clinics in prisons, police stations, and courts.
- Facilitate support screening and diversion opportunities.
- Deliver community legal awareness and civic education sessions.
- Supervise and mentor Village Mediators.
- Work closely with justice sector institutions, traditional leaders, and local authorities.
Requirements
Key Competencies
- Basic knowledge of criminal and civil law.
- Experience in community justice and mediation.
- Understanding of Malawi’s justice system and human rights.
- Commitment to rights-based and inclusive justice.
- Good digital literacy, including Microsoft Office and data management.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
