Job Description
Background
WASTE Advisers is implementing the project Financial Inclusion of Improved Livelihoods Out Of Plastics (FINILOOP), which aims to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable plastic waste management solutions in Lilongwe City. As part of this initiative, the organisation plans to establish an Innovation Hub in Lilongwe City to support businesses, start‑ups, and key stakeholders across the plastic waste value chain. The Hub will serve as a centre to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship, foster collaboration, and enhance sustainable approaches to plastic waste management and circular economy practices.
To facilitate this effort, WASTE Advisers invites offers from property owners, institutions, and organizations interested in providing suitable premises for lease to host the Innovation Hub.
Objective of the Tender
The objective is to identify and secure a suitable site and facilities that will host the Innovation Hub and support business incubation, training, waste innovation demonstrations, and stakeholder engagement.
Eligibility
· Open to property owners, companies, institutions, and organisations with suitable facilities with ownership title deed.
· Open to all areas within Lilongwe City with preference in Njewa, along Western Bypass Road, Area 4, Area 2, Kanengo, Kawale, Mchesi, Area 25
· The premises should be available by 1st June 2026.
The Expression of Interest
The expression of interest should contain the following key information,
· Property description and location (provide coordinates)
· Proof of ownership
· Layout or photographs, along with a simple sketch map indicating directions
· Utility availability details
· Lease terms (including when the site will be available) and cost
Submission
Submit your expression of interest to bids@wasteadvisersmw.org by 23 May 2026. Please note that the evaluation process may commence prior to the submission deadline.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Availability of a three-phase electricity connection, or the capacity to install it within a short timeframe of 4 months.
- Access to a reliable water supply
- A minimum of 600 m² of outdoor space, with preference for larger areas
- At least 300 m² of covered roofed space not prone to leakages
- Adequate space to accommodate a minimum of two (2) 40 ft containers
- Easy access for trucks, including sufficient manoeuvring space for loading and offloading
- Located in an area not prone to flooding
- Situated in a secure environment, preferably with a fenced or walled perimeter
