VACANCY: RECEPTIONIST – CHILD DEVELOPMENT CLINIC

Organisation: Fount for Nations

Location: Lilongwe, Malawi

Employment: Part-time

Reporting to: Clinic Lead

About the Role


Fount for Nations is seeking a Receptionist to join our Child Development Clinic and be the first point of contact for children, caregivers and visitors.

The Receptionist will manage the front desk, appointments and client records, creating a warm, welcoming and orderly environment that allows the clinical team to deliver family-centred care.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome children, caregivers and visitors and attend to enquiries in person, by phone and by email.
  • Schedule, confirm and follow up on appointments, assessments and therapy sessions.
  • Register new clients and maintain accurate, confidential client files and clinic records.
  • Receive payments, issue receipts and maintain simple daily financial and attendance records.
  • Manage the reception area, clinic diary, waiting list and flow of clients through the clinic.
  • Support the clinical team with correspondence, filing, data entry and reporting.
  • Monitor clinic supplies and stationery and notify management when stock is running low.
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, child-friendly and well-organised clinic environment.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or certificate in Front Office, Business Administration, Secretarial Studies or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a reception, front office or customer service role.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic record or appointment systems
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Chichewa, both spoken and written.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Experience in a clinic, hospital or other health or child-focused setting is an advantage.
  • Experience in social media management and content creation will have an added advantage.
