Job Description
LOCATION: Northern, Southern and Central Regions
Reporting: To the Relationship Supervisors (Agribusiness) Background: Sycamore Credit Limited is a Malawi-an-owned Micro Finance Company that provides loan products. Sycamore Credit Limited was incorporated in April 2018 with the Registrar of Companies and was licensed to operate as a microfinance company in August 2018 by the Reserve Bank of Malawi. The company is rolling out Agribusiness loan products and is looking for qualified and motivated individuals to fill the positions of Relationship Officers (Agribusiness). Role Overview: Acts as the primary link between the financial institution and farmers, evaluating creditworthiness and managing Agribusiness Loans Portfolio.
• Key Responsibilities:
o Appraisal & Assessment: Screen applicants, conduct field visits to inspect farming operations and entire agribusiness value chain, and analyze financial statements or credit reports.
o Financial Advisory: Advise clients on Sycamore’s loan products that suit their specific farm cycles.
o Portfolio Management: Monitor repayment activities and take action on past-due accounts.
o Documentation: Prepare and submit complete loan packages for credit committee approval.
• Requirements:
o Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy or Agriculture.
o Experience: Typically, 2–5 years in agribusiness lending or related financial services.
o Skills: Proficiency in credit analysis, knowledge of local agribusiness markets, and a valid motorcycle license for field travel.
