THE ROLE

We are looking for a rockstar Senior Laravel Engineer with at least 6+ years of solid experience in a web application based environment to join our client-dedicated Team in one of the biggest operators in South Africa.

Opportunity to work in a high transactional environment with extremely high availability and low tolerance for down-time.

• Opportunity to work with REST APIs and protocols (HTTP/S, SMPP).
• Opportunity to work with and improve CI/CD pipelines for applications.
• Implementing API integrations with mobile networks, partners or 3rd party stakeholders.
• Exposure to highly skilled team members for upskilling in various areas.
• Designing, documenting and building new features in existing applications or new services.
• Conduct maintenance, refactoring and bug fixes.
• Respond to firing alerts and investigate issues in existing applications.
• Opportunity to work with AWS services such as ECS, Redshift, S3, RDS, Athena.
• Provide estimates and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Write ad-hoc SQL reports to assist stakeholders with data-based decision-making.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

• Expert knowledge of PHP and Laravel (artisan, RBAC, caching).
• Be familiar with Docker, MySQL, Microservice Environments.
• Advantageous, but not required: Kubernetes, Node.JS, React, GoLang, Java or another strongly typed language.

OUR HIRING PROCESS

It's quite casual. Once we've received your CV, we'll see if we want you to interview, where we'll have a grown-up conversation about who we are, who you are, and whether or not we can do some amazing work together. Considering the times we are now living in, some of these interviews will most likely be online, and we may ask you to record some responses to some interview questions. If we both feel that we are a match then we will make an offer and you're in.
