Job Description
The Malawi Legal Aid Bureau, established under the Legal Aid Act of 2011, is a national public institution mandated to provide legal aid services to persons with insufficient means. The Bureau is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Supplies Assistant.

Reporting to: Assistant Procurement Officer
Duty Station: Zomba
The Role
The successful candidate will support procurement, stores, and asset management functions while ensuring efficient supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of all supplies to the Bureau
- Reconcile physical supplies with invoices and supporting documentation
- Examine purchase orders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Dispatch approved purchase orders and follow up on deliveries
- Conduct physical stock checks and maintain inventory records
- Compile statistical information on supply chain activities
- Verify the quality of goods before acceptance or dispatch
- Assess vendors' capacity to deliver goods and services
- Assist in preparing quotations, tender documents, and bid tabulations
- Request invoices and supporting documentation for procured goods and services
- Assist in asset management and disposal processes
- Produce periodic asset management reports
- Support planning of goods deliveries and monitor stock availability
- Perform any other duties assigned by management
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent
- Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or a related field
- At least one (1) year of relevant work experience
- A Diploma in a relevant field will be an added advantage
