OVERVIEW

Ntchisi District Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians to fill the following temporary positions at the Council. The available positions are in the Market section and successful candidates will be responsible for revenue collection, security, and maintaining cleanliness within the market environment.

1. Revenue Collector (N/E)

Grade: M

Location: Market

Minimum Qualifications

• Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with credits in English and Mathematics.

• Certificate in Bookkeeping or Financial Accounting will be an added advantage.

• Applicants must be 45 years old or below.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise ticket sellers.

• Collect and safeguard market revenue.

• Maintain accounting records and documents.

• Bank collected revenue and submit reports.

• Work closely with Market Committees.

• Supervise market staff and ensure market cleanliness.

• Verify tax forms and assist taxpayers.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

2. Watchman (N/E)

Grade: R

Location: Market

Minimum Qualifications

• Malawi Junior Certificate of Education (JCE).

• Applicants must be 45 years old or below.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide security for government property.

• Conduct security patrols within the market.

• Report security threats to relevant authorities.

• Conduct proper shift handovers.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

3. Market Sweeper (N/E)

Grade: R

Location: Market

Minimum Qualifications

• Malawi Junior Certificate of Education (JCE).

• Applicants must be 45 years old or below.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning of the market.

• Clear market bus parks.

• Remove litter and waste from market premises.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
