JOB SUMMARY

The Chef will prepare and cook a variety of meals, maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, ensure kitchen cleanliness, manage food supplies, and support smooth kitchen operations, especially during busy periods.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality meals according to the establishment's menu.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and safety.
• Manage kitchen operations efficiently, particularly during busy hours.
• Monitor food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen stock to minimise wastage.
• Keep the kitchen and cooking equipment clean, safe, and organised.
• Work effectively with other staff members to ensure excellent customer service.
• Ensure meals are prepared consistently and served to the expected standard.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate should have:

• A Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience working as a Chef in a busy restaurant, hotel, bar and grill, or similar establishment.
• The ability to prepare a variety of meals while maintaining quality and consistency.
• A certificate in professional cookery, catering, or a related field will be an added advantage.
• Applicants must be between 25 and 40 years of age.
