About WealthNet Finance PLC

WealthNet Finance PLC is seeking a qualified and experienced Marketing Manager – KakuPay Loyalty to develop and implement marketing, customer acquisition, merchant engagement, and brand growth strategies for the KakuPay Loyalty Programme.

Job Summary

The Marketing Manager – KakuPay Loyalty will be responsible for increasing customer participation, merchant adoption, transaction volumes, and customer retention while positioning KakuPay Loyalty as a leading digital rewards and loyalty platform in Malawi.

The role involves working closely with business development, operations, technology, finance, and customer service teams to drive sustainable programme growth.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy

  • Develop and implement annual marketing and communication strategies for the KakuPay Loyalty Programme.
  • Prepare marketing plans, budgets, and performance targets aligned with company objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Develop campaigns to increase awareness, customer acquisition, engagement, and loyalty.

Brand Management

  • Build and strengthen the KakuPay Loyalty brand.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and identity across communication channels.
  • Manage promotional materials, advertising campaigns, and public relations activities.
  • Coordinate media engagements and brand visibility initiatives.

Customer Acquisition and Retention

  • Design customer acquisition campaigns to increase programme registrations.
  • Develop customer retention and engagement initiatives.
  • Create promotional offers, reward campaigns, competitions, and seasonal marketing activities.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and recommend improvements.

Merchant Development and Engagement

  • Develop initiatives to recruit and retain participating merchants.
  • Work with the Business Development team to increase merchant participation.
  • Design merchant incentive programmes.
  • Build relationships with strategic merchant partners.

Digital Marketing

  • Manage digital marketing activities including social media, website content, email marketing, SMS campaigns, and digital advertising.
  • Develop digital campaigns to increase customer engagement.
  • Monitor online customer feedback and protect the programme’s online reputation.
  • Analyse digital marketing performance and optimise campaigns.

Campaign Management

  • Plan and execute nationwide promotional campaigns.
  • Manage product launches and promotional events.
  • Coordinate roadshows, exhibitions, merchant activations, and community marketing activities.
  • Prepare campaign evaluation reports.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Management

  • Develop strategic partnerships with corporates, retailers, mobile network operators, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate joint marketing initiatives.
  • Represent KakuPay Loyalty at exhibitions, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.

Sales and Business Growth Support

  • Support sales teams in achieving customer and merchant acquisition targets.
  • Develop marketing tools for merchant recruitment.
  • Identify new market opportunities to expand the loyalty ecosystem.

Customer Experience

  • Monitor customer feedback and satisfaction levels.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service teams to resolve customer complaints.
  • Recommend improvements to customer experience.

Budget Management

  • Prepare and manage marketing budgets.
  • Ensure efficient utilisation of marketing resources.
  • Evaluate return on investment (ROI) for marketing initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with advertising agencies, printers, media houses, and service providers.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

  • Track key performance indicators including customer registrations, active users, merchant growth, transaction volumes, campaign reach, customer retention, and ROI.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing performance reports.
  • Use data analytics to improve marketing decisions.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise marketing officers, brand ambassadors, promoters, and campaign staff.
  • Build team capacity through coaching and performance management.
  • Promote innovation, teamwork, and customer-focused culture.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree or professional marketing qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in marketing, preferably in digital financial services, fintech, banking, telecommunications, retail, or loyalty programmes.
  • Experience in digital marketing, brand management, campaign management, and customer acquisition.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and cross-functional teams.

Key Skills

  • Knowledge of digital channels including SMS, App, and USSD.
  • Proven experience running successful customer retention campaigns.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
