OVERVIEW

Ignite Energy Access is a company dedicated to delivering sustainable renewable energy solutions across Malawi. The company is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions.



POSITION 1: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in finance, accounting, and administration, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, financial reporting, taxation, financial controls, and compliance management.
  • Experience using accounting software, ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Sage, or similar), and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience managing procurement and administrative functions.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, internal controls, and risk management practices.
  • Understanding of Malawi tax laws, statutory compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Strong financial analysis, forecasting, planning, report-writing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in renewable energy, manufacturing, agribusiness, telecommunications, or infrastructure sectors is an added advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading financial management activities, including financial reporting, accounting operations, cash flow management, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Coordinating budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and monitoring organizational performance against approved budgets.
  • Driving cost control initiatives and providing recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory, tax, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements in Malawi.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective internal controls, risk management practices, and audit processes.
  • Overseeing administrative operations, including facilities management, insurance, travel, contracts, licenses, and corporate records.
  • Managing procurement activities and ensuring effective stewardship of company assets and inventory.
  • Coordinating ICT service delivery, business systems support, and information security practices.
  • Supporting corporate governance, business continuity, and organizational compliance initiatives.
  • Leading and developing the Finance and Administration team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.



POSITION 2: HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification and/or membership with a recognized HR professional body.
  • Minimum of 3 years' progressive experience in Human Resources, preferably within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Malawi Labour Laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting key HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, and HR compliance.
  • Proficiency in HR information systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and record management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive employee matters professionally.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in a local language is an added advantage.
  • Experience using Google Workspace and HR management systems is desirable.
  • Experience supporting HR operations in a multi-site, fast-growing, or geographically dispersed organization.
  • Strong employee engagement, culture-building, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience coordinating recruitment and talent acquisition activities across multiple functions.
  • Knowledge of HR analytics, workforce reporting, and people data management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and customer-focused approach to HR service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes to attract, hire, and retain talent while supporting workforce planning initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees, supporting employee relations, engagement, wellness, and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Administer performance management processes, including appraisal cycles, performance improvement plans, and employee development activities.
  • Support payroll, compensation, benefits, leave administration, and employee rewards processes while maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Maintain HR records, databases, contracts, and documentation, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Prepare HR reports and workforce analytics to support decision-making and organizational planning.
  • Ensure compliance with Malawi labour laws, statutory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards.
  • Support the development, implementation, and review of HR policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
  • Promote occupational health, safety, and employee wellbeing programs across the organization.
  • Advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture.
