AHF is a global organization providing HIV and AIDS, TB, and STI treatment in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation. Applications are invited for the following temporary positions.
POSITION 1: TEMPORARY HIV DIAGNOSTIC ASSISTANT
Number of Posts: 10
Duration: 3 months, with possibility of extension

Ntcheu District: Nzama HC (1 post).

Role Summary
Responsible for promoting and carrying out HIV Counselling and Testing at facility and community level, scaling up Provider-Initiated Testing and Care (PITC) with emphasis on Index Testing, and facilitating linkage to treatment and support services.
Key Duties
Perform rapid HIV tests in HIV department and PITC, prioritizing Index Testing. Achieve minimum client to contact ratio of 1:4 for Index Testing. Ensure 95% of index contacts are tested, with 30% of total tests through index testing. Link all HIV positive clients and ensure data is entered and updated in the web portal. Record and file test results in registers. Follow national clinical guidelines and protocols. Ensure functional referral systems and proper documentation in MoH HTS tools.
Qualifications
Certified HIV Diagnostic Assistant with Index Testing Training. Malawi School Leaving Certificate (MSCE). Minimum 2 years experience in HIV prevention, counselling, and testing with focus on Index Testing.
POSITION 2: TEMPORARY DATA CLERK
Number of Posts: 7
Duration: 3 months, with possibility of extension

Nkhotakota District: Kapiri HC (1 post).
Chikwawa District: Gaga HC (1 post), Nkumaniza HC (1 post).
Nsanje District: Nsanje Hospital (1 post), Ndamera HC (1 post).
Role Summary
Support data management at health center level through accurate collection, entry, validation, and timely reporting in line with AHF and national standards.
Key Duties
Maintain accurate, complete, and secure HIV program records. Perform data entry, filing, archiving, and retrieval for electronic and paper systems. Ensure availability and use of standardized data collection and reporting tools. Compile and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and benchmark reports. Capture and update data in EMRs, web-based systems, and Excel databases. Track missed appointments and defaulters to strengthen tracing and retention. Monitor HIV-positive clients by documenting referrals and tracking linkage and treatment outcomes. Provide technical support to facilities on data processes. Participate in data review meetings for verification and quality improvement.
Qualifications
Diploma in Information Technology, Information Management, Data Processing, or related field. Minimum 2 years experience in data entry or data management, preferably in HIV/AIDS or public health programs. Certification in Data Management or Information Processing is an added advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Access, and Word. 99% or higher data accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to data quality standards. Knowledge of HIV program indicators and familiarity with EMRs, HMIS, or DHIS2 is an added advantage. High integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive health data.
