Job Description

The African Union Development Agency invites applications from citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Procurement Officer.


Under the supervision of the Senior Procurement Officer, the Procurement Officer will provide project procurement support within the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), by managing the entire procurement and tendering process from requirement definition to supply of goods and services, consultancy and works. The Officer will also manage the entire contract management until liquidation/closure of all procurements in an efficiently, transparently and in full compliance with World Bank Procurement Regulations and African Union policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education and Experience:


Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Law, Business Administration, Commerce or Finance. Five (5) years relevant work experience in Public Procurement, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Supply and Warehousing and Sub-Grants and Sub-delegation within public sector institutions, international organisations or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.


A full MCIPS Professional certification in CIPS UK or an equivalent professional body in Public Procurement is a mandatory requirement.


OR


Master's Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Law, Business Administration, Commerce, or Finance. A minimum of two (2) years of progressive professional experience in relevant work experience in Public Procurement, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Supply and Warehousing and Sub-Grants and Sub-delegation within public sector institutions, international organisations or similar organizations nationally, regionally and/or internationally.


A full MCIPS Professional certification in CIPS UK or an equivalent professional body in Public Procurement is a mandatory requirement.


Experience:


Demonstrated experience with World Bank Procurement Regulations and STEP system


Experience in Public procurement and Sub-grants financing environment


Demonstrated experience in managing a project procurement portfolio in excess of US$1m


Remuneration:


Indicative basic salary of US$35,044.83 per annum plus other entitlements e.g., Post Adjustment (57% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($21,832.88 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
