VACANCIES

Project HOPE Namibia (PHN) is an indigenous regional African NGO founded in 2004 with technical expertise in infectious diseases, maternal and child health, and economic strengthening with a programmatic presence across the continent. PHN has over 20 years’ experience implementing public health programming in Africa with demonstrated capacity to implement PEPFAR-funded OVC & DREAMS projects in Namibia and Malawi. In Namibia, PHN was USAID’s lead partner for OVC and DREAMS programming since 2013 and 2018, respectively. PHN works in collaboration with local stakeholders, host government ministries, and other partners in countries of implementation to ensure implementation in accordance with the local context and with buy-in from the appropriate stakeholders.

Malawi career guidePHN – MA (Project HOPE Namibia in Malawi), registered in Malawi in 2024, is currently implementing the Ana ndi Achinyamata Patsogolo (ANAPA) project in Malawi-a five-year, $60 million initiative funded by PEPFAR/USAID previously and now under the USG’s Department of State (DoS). Initially designed to prevent new HIV infections by increasing uptake of health, HIV, and social services among children, adolescents, and their families, with a particular focus- the project shifted focus following the stop work order. ANAPA now prioritizes the provision of life saving HIV care and treatment services for vulnerable children. 


Project HOPE Namibia, a member of Africa Public Health Network (APHN) seeks a qualified Temporary Graphics and Communication Officer for the Ana ndi Achinyamata Patsogolo Activity (ANAPA) project.

It is against this background that PHN-MA, seeks qualified Malawians to fill the post for the ANAPA Activity as follows: –

1. Temporary Graphics and Communication Officer

Reporting to: Communication Specialist

Duty Station: Country Office – Blantyre

Nature of Contract : 1 Month Contract

Number Required: 1

Supervises: None

Minimum Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Job Summary: The Temporary Graphics and Communication Officer will support the ANAPA communication strategy efforts through creative design, digital media management, documentation, and storytelling. The Temporary Graphics and Communication Officer will ensure all communication products align with the organization’s branding and strategic communication objectives while enhancing the visibility and impact of programs and activities.

Resume building serviceSpecific Duties and Responsibilities: –

Graphic design:

  • Create and edit photos and create illustrations, infographics, and layouts as necessary.
  • Design high-quality visual materials for both print and digital platforms e.g., brochures, newsletters, social media graphics, etc.
  • Ensure all graphic designs align with the organization’s brand guidelines and visual identity.
  • Design materials for events (banners, invitations, presentations, etc.).

Documentation:

  • Support documentation of project activities through photos, videos, and short write-ups, organization’s website and digital platforms.
  • Assist in drafting and editing communication materials such as newsletters, success stories, blog posts, and reports.

Storytelling:

  • Support visibility of programs through creative graphic designs of success stories.

Production:

  • Assist in the development and production of communication materials.

Events and Campaigns:

  • Organize events and participate during ANAPA and external events and campaigns.
  • Support the development of campaign materials for events and/or awareness/commemoration days.

Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE):

  • Contribute towards risk communication and community engagement efforts.

Social Media:

  • Responsible for all social media related activities; including content creation, scheduling, posting, engagement, analysis.

Reporting

  • Report weekly and as required on social and mass media metrics and activities.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and required skills: –

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in graphic design and communications.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous design work
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; Canva).
  • Skills in photography and video production and editing are an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of social media platforms and digital communication trends.
  • Attention to detail and creativity.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Experience working with NGOs or development programs
  • High level of integrity
