OVERVIEW
Omni Africa Malawi is seeking a results-driven Sales Consultant to identify and meet customer needs within the allotted sales territory (Software or Hardware). The successful candidate will maintain strong after-sales relationships, keep accurate records of customer appointments and completed sales, and provide detailed product information. This role requires regular updating of product knowledge and continuous development of selling techniques, with a focus on providing personalized service, establishing trust, and taking a non-confrontational approach to selling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and acquire new business opportunities while growing revenue from existing customers through cross-selling, upselling, renewals, and additional solutions.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales targets and achieve agreed gross profit objectives.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to maximize customer retention and satisfaction.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, lead qualification, solution presentations, quotations, proposals, negotiations, and closing sales.
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries, requests for quotations (RFQs), tenders, emails, and telephone calls while providing professional sales support.
- Prepare and present tailored product and solution proposals that address customer business needs.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, opportunities, and forecasts within the CRM system.
- Conduct regular customer visits, attend scheduled appointments punctually, and provide ongoing after-sales support.
- Collaborate with pre-sales, marketing, product support, and other internal teams to develop solutions and successfully close sales opportunities.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's products, services, industry trends, and competitor offerings through continuous training and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with company sales policies, pricing guidelines, operating procedures, and approved communication standards.
- Prepare and submit accurate sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to management.
- Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to support debt collection and ensure customer accounts remain within agreed credit terms.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and workshops while maintaining a professional, collaborative, and customer-focused approach at all times.
Requirements
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Sales, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a sales, business development, or account management role, preferably within the ICT, software, hardware, or technology industry.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets and revenue objectives.
- Experience in new business development, lead generation, customer relationship management, and account growth through upselling, cross-selling, and renewals.
- Experience preparing quotations, proposals, RFQ responses, and tender submissions.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems to manage sales pipelines, customer information, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of consultative selling techniques and solution-based sales.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a target-driven environment.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel for client meetings (advantageous).
- Relevant industry or vendor certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Sophos, Fortinet, or similar) would be advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
